Fitness Flourishes

Recently I have started doing laps around the office building where I work with some members of the Email Team. We are definitely one cohesive unit, I love all my jobs. Plus the fresh air is a great idea instead of us hitting the vending machine. Also my hubby decided to come home after grocery shopping with a Wii Fit. So I decided that I have no choice but to beat his goal while achieving mine...Just a little friendly competition.

IMG_0155So I thought why not do it Stampin' Up! Style. So here I took our fabulous Decor Elements and put them onto my new metal water bottle. I used a section of the "Flourishes" vinyl. I just love how it looks and it is a lot more durable than the rub-ons for use on things that are handled more frequently. Don't you think it adds a touch of style...at least if I leave it at the gym, I'll know which one is mine ... ha ha

Thanks for stopping in, I hope you have a happy and healthy day.

An Unforgettable Happy Heart Day

IMG_0075Don't you think your unforgettable friend would like to get a cute card like this?

I love this stamp set is called Happy Heart Day. It's great for anyone who loves to watercolour or simply break out your markers and get to colouring like those ol' school days.

The colours on this card are Blush Blossom, Old Olive and Groovy Guava (yes it's retired but I miss it!) and still have some kickin around.

This is actually a bi-fold card and the image poses as the latch as well as your focal point. I tend to use this a lot lately, I just really like the look it gives. The ribbon is white ribbon dyed using reinkers to match the project.

All you need is; white ribbon, a closed container, a spritzer, rubber gloves(you don't need them but it can get a bit messy and if you're not careful your hands may end up a funky shade), a reinker of your choice and paper towel. Add 3-4 drops into the container and spritz a couple times with water. Let your white ribbon soak. You may choose to close the lid and do a little shake. When you remove the ribbon the more you blot on the paper towel the lighter it will be. Tip: Use your Heat tool to dry the ribbon right away, which will helps hold the colour without the risk of the dye absorbing into the paper towel.

Thanks for stopping by, Happy Stamping!

Stair Steppin' Cute As A Bug

IMG_0118 A while ago I was looking for a cute stamp set to use in making a stair step card. I found the ever so cute, Cute As A Bug stamp set which can be found on the dormant list. I love how many things you can do with this set.

I am definitely going to be upset when they let thins one go. I used a few different techniques on this card but I think it works well together; paper peircing, edge tearing, heat embossing, sponging, markers, and stamping off.

The colours I used were Gable Green, Chocolate Chip, Cameo Coral, Very Vanilla and Baja Breeze.

This card uses 1/2 an 8.5" x 11" sheet of cardstock. Cutting it at 4.25", scoring at 1.5", 2.5", 4.25", 6", 8.5" along the 11" side.

Thanks for stopping by, don't let the bed bugs bite...

I Love you Much!

IMG_0114Ok I have to confess, I don't own this stamp set but, boy I have good friends who help keep me updated with the times :)

I love being able to get together with my friends and fellow demos to stamp and chit chat. I love my girls, they help keep me sane in the stamping sense.

These great projects use the Love You Much stamp set which you can find on page 27 in the catalogue. It's a great set to use for Valentines or Valentine Day cards. Plus the very versitile Big Shot Top Notes Die...love love love this die right now but just wait until I get my Butterfly die (shhh! it's coming soon).

The colours used on the projects include; Real Red, Whisper White, Kraft and Riding Hood Red.

Thanks for stopping by I missed sharing with you.

All the more reason to stay in and spend valuable time with family and friends.  Now that makes for one Happy Heart Day don't you think? A new year, a new lease on life, new ideas and new goals are the staples of a good New Year's resolution but who needs a new year to get that pumped up feeling. Lately I have been feeling uninspired and realized that the winter blues had already started to sink in and I thought what makes me happy? Well definitely you have your constants; Family and friends, but, also my job and my stamping make me happy. I love learning new and fun things to do.

2008 Stampin' Up! Convention Highlights

DSC04868closeup

Boy oh boy, did I have a blast at my First-ever SU! event. Needless to say they knocked the socks right off of me and it was an experience that I want to relive every year.

What a rush to be in a building with 6000+ people who are just as excited about stamping and Stampin' Up! as you are. Where you all dance, sing and get pumped at 7am. Where you all hoard down a hallway to all eat lunch at the same time. It was CHAOS in the good, great an amazing way.

I went out of my element and stayed with other demonstrators that I had never met before and it was fantastic. The were in a crazy number of swaps...something along the lines of 20 thousand, but the advantage was getting to see many ther ideas that I normally wouldn't have. Plus Joanne, Karen & Kris were wonderful people and it was nice to make new friends from NY.

It's just amazing to see how Stampin' Up! really cares and how amazingly humble Shelli the co-founder of the company is. I got a chance to meet her and she is one Fan-tabulous woman, I even get her to sign my catalogue (I know I'm a geek! but how cool was that?)

Hope to post more soon as lots has happened since I've been back, miss you all lots. Don't forget your daily good deed, even if it's to tell your loved ones you love them :) Have a great day!

Wedding Card with Baroque Motifs

Weddingcardcloseup

Good Morning everyone,

Do you want to know what I have been up to lately? I have been busy getting ready to go to convention in Salt Lake City! How exciting... I can't wait to go and come back with all new fresh ideas for you all.

I recently was asked to make a wedding card for my sister and her co-workers as one of their crew was getting hitched. It's a whopping 6" x 11" so of course I had to also make a customized envelope to match. Now what bride would forget receiving a card like that...I know I wouldn't. Plus the detail is awesome.

DSC04712 So I used Baroque Motifs, Sincere Salutations stamp sets, fancy folds and incorporated lots of embossing which adds a touch of elegance and dynamic to any project not to mention brads and ribbon.

I am totally going to miss Soft Sky from our spring-summer 2008 catty I love these colours and will truly miss using them. Which reminds me that ther's not much time left to stock up on these fabulous colours before they disappear.

DSC04699DSC04696  I hoped you enjoyed today, I will be back soon to share with you some exciting projects that I have been working on. Have a great day!!
